A clear decision for the future
The EWG projects are heat-led - because our focus is on providing Grünwald's citizens, businesses, institutions and municipal properties with a secure heat supply.
But because the borehole has achieved such an excellent result, the municipal council has also opted for electricity. Since the end of 2014, the ORC power plant in Laufzorn has been generating green electricity, which is being fed into the public grid.

Our geothermal plant has been awarded the title of "Goldenes Kraftwerk" ("Golden Power Plant") two times, in 2018 and 2019. Our nearby heating plant has been awarded "Goldenes Heizwerk" (Golden Heat Plant") in 2019.
