For Erdwärme Grünwald, security of supply is the top priority. The aim is to extract renewable energy from the earth and distribute it as heating energy to citizens, businesses, institutions and municipal properties on a permanent basis.
Erdwärme Grünwald currently operates a district heating network with a total pipeline length of approximately 100 km and an installed connection capacity of 70 MW.
New district heating transport pipelines are needed not only because of the permanently high demand for new connections but also because of the plan to enable a full-scale geothermal heat supply for all Grünwald buildings.
Between the two locations Laufzorn and Unterhaching and the north of Grünwald, an approximately 4.7 km long district heating transport pipeline is being built, which will supply the north of Grünwald's district heating network in the future.
The pipeline starts at the car park on Linienstrasse in Oberhaching (1) and runs predominantly along forest roads through Perlacher and Grünwalder Forst to the north of Grünwald (2) with a connection to the existing district heating pipeline network in the area of Bavaria Film studios (3).
